Continuous Improvement Engineer (1750161)

The purpose of this position is to support and coordinate continuous improvement activities related to the manufacturing of hollow fiber membranes production at GE Water and Process Technologies.



Essential Responsibilities

  • Lead, coordinate and support variable cost productivity, continuous improvement and simplification projects to fulfill VCP, COQ target of the company
  • Identify development and simplification opportunities across the plant
  • Lead and support processes development and optimization
  • Lead and support quality improvement: defect and root cause analysis, cost of quality (COQ) reduction
  • Support to introduce new technologies, products, manufacturing processes and methods
  • Support quality framework, kaizen and Lean activities
  • Continuously monitoring and follow up key process indicators (KPI)
  • Be aware of and fulfill the EHS, QC/QA requirements and other relating GE standards


  • MSc or BSc degree from Mechanical or Chemical Engineering
  • At least 2 years of experience in relevant field
  • Must have a solid understanding of manufacturing and quality processes.
  • Strong technological, analytical and problem solving knowledge
  • Project managing experience
  • Open to learn and develop new processes and methods
  • Ability to work without supervision
  • Good team player
  • Demonstrated oral, written, and computer communication skills in the Hungarian and English languages
  • Strong knowledge of MS excel, MS word, PowerPoint, outlook, and Internet explorer

Desired Characteristics

  • Knowledge of LEAN, kaizen or Six Sigma methodology
  • (Six Sigma Green Belt or Black Belt certification is a plus)
  • Knowledge of Minitab or other statistical software
  • Statistic skills, knowledge of problem solving tools
  • CAD experience is a plus
  • PLC knowledge or controller tuning experience
